Cakes By Post Terms and Conditions
By using this site the user unconditionally accepts the terms mentioned below and/or elsewhere on this site.
Payment Options – Payment must be made in advance, before any goods are dispatched. The Cake Box uses Paypal for its “Cakes by Post” payments (please note that you will have the option to pay by credit/debit at the checkout of the Pay pal payment system).
Cancellation of Order – As cakes are made to order and personalised to your specifications, cancellations can only be made no later than the day after the order was placed.
Delivery Methods & Times – Delivery for UK orders will be by Courier or Royal Mail 1st Class or Special Delivery. Deliveries are made Tuesday to Friday only and must be signed for. We will make every effort to dispatch orders in time for the specified delivery date, however, once your parcel is in the hands of the courier we have no control over the delivery process. If delivery does not take place on the specified date, no refund shall be given.
Please Note – Any cake order must be received at least 7 days before the cake is required (this is the minimum amount of time required to meet any delivery date) and please ensure the delivery date is set a day in advance of the required date to allow for any delivery problems.
All items require a signature. If nobody is available to take receipt of the parcel, the courier may attempt to deliver the parcel to a neighbour. Otherwise, a card will be left with details of how to arrange re-delivery or collection.
During periods of industrial action by postal workers, items sent by post are subject to delay and delivery times cannot be guaranteed.
Deliveries are not made on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays or Public Holidays.
For Christmas deliveries we recommend that you order by 12th December for UK deliveries. We cannot guarantee deliveries will be received in time for Christmas.
Delivery Address – It is the customer’s responsibility to make sure that the delivery address is completed correctly on The Cake Box order form. No refunds shall be given for cakes not being delivered due to incorrect delivery addresses.
Replacement Procedure – We will make every effort to dispatch orders in time for the specified delivery date. However, if delivery does not take place on the specified date, no refund shall be given. In the unlikely event that your cakes are lost during transit, you must notify us within 48 hours of expected delivery. Compensation may be available, up to a maximum of the price paid by the customer, if the cakes cannot be traced and are confirmed as lost by the carriers.
Damages – All our cakes leave in perfect condition, unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for minor damages that may occur during transit.
Refunds – Refunds for valid claims will be made via the same credit card used to place the order.
Substitutions – Whilst every effort will be made to supply the exact item specified, the product is subject to availability. The Cake Box reserves the right to substitute items of a similar or higher value, where appropriate, should the need arise.
Unforseen Circumstances – While every effort will be made to meet shoppers demands, cancellations or variations may be necessary due to causes beyond the control of The Cake Box.
The Cake Box’s total liability for any claim howsoever shall not exceed the price of the goods supplied by The Cake Box to the customer. The Cake Box shall not be liable for any consequential loss whether that arises from a breach of duty in contract or in any other way.
By placing an order with The Cake Box either through our website, over the telephone, or by any other medium you are agreeing to these terms.
